In Bengaluru, Anthony Neo played a crucial role in establishing both the Parylene Coating and Electroluminescent (EL) factories. The machinery for the EL factory was a combination of Taiwanese and Indian equipment, selected for cost considerations. Planning the machine layout presented challenges due to space constraints within the factory, but these were overcome by reconfiguring the substrate intake directions for the large-format printer.
Training the team in Electroluminescent Light Panel printing was straightforward, as the team already had experience in screen printing. The training focused on the core concepts of EL printing and the appropriate printing profiles. This approach ensured that the team quickly became proficient in developing and producing Electroluminescent products.
Moreover, the team leveraged the support of nearby industries, engaging in various collaborations to complete the EL products. These partnerships facilitated the efficient production of high-quality Electroluminescent products, showcasing the team’s ability to adapt and innovate in a constrained environment.
The planning phase for this project took a few months to complete. This is due to EL Dynamic Display Technology being new to Electroluminescent. And they have no prior knowledge of silk screen printing.
Sourcing for a local machine supplier was the next hurdle. It took us a while to find the right supplier. Next was the factory renovation, this time it was much easier. The factory layout, power supply, and other requirements were done accordingly.
Anthony Neo spends three weeks in the factory, commissioning the machines and training. Training began with manufacturing simple Electroluminescent Backlights. To do this, the designer needs to create the printing circuit. The tooling department needs to prepare the silkscreens for printing. The printers need to prepare the printing inks and print the Electroluminescent Panel. Finally, the assembly team has to assemble the Electroluminescent device. Once the team achieved the desired results, the training progressed to the next phase.
With the above-structured training, the team was able to complete the training on time. And took home valuable knowledge that otherwise will take them years to learn.

Building on the success of the Kuwait EL factory, Mohammad Pirayesh embarked on a new venture to establish another factory in Sharjah, UAE. When Nejilock decided to relocate its Batam electroluminescent factory to China, we faced a critical decision: to either construct a new facility or collaborate with an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). After a thorough evaluation, we engaged Dotai as our OEM partner. However, we identified areas for improvement, particularly in quality control and product finishing, which needed to be addressed to meet our standards and the demands of the USA and European markets.
Anthony Neo was assigned to the production team in China to bridge these gaps. His role was to review and enhance the existing processes, ensuring that our products met the stringent quality requirements. Through his efforts, we aimed to elevate our manufacturing capabilities and maintain our reputation for excellence with our new OEM partner.

The Batam, Indonesia factory was our maiden venture into manufacturing Electroluminescent Light Panels. We faced numerous challenges from the onset, and much of our progress was achieved through trial and error. I vividly recall how our initial machinery was rendered obsolete within a year due to incompatibility issues. However, our perseverance bore fruit, and we soon succeeded in producing Electroluminescent Light Panels.
